Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors at King Faisal Center for Studies and Islamic Research, has urged writers and researchers to delve into the humanitarian side of King Faisal's character. Prince Turki described most writers and researchers as focusing on the political talents of the late King at the expense of other notable sides to his personality. Prince Turki said that in every region he has worked, he has tried to instill some of the late King's qualities in people's minds. “For example, he was notable in Makkah for being the King's deputy in Hejaz in 1946, and continued holding the title even after the death of the founder King Abdul Aziz,” he said. Prince Turki described King Faisal as devoting his life to the service of the Islamic sites, a dedication manifest in the unprecedented expansions carried out during the reigns of successive monarchs. “The remarkable strides forward in education and health deserve special mention,” he added He described King Faisal as an unsurpassable listener, adding: “He would lend his ear to everyone, regardless of status or social standing.” “The late King Faisal was a man of action, not words. He would listen more than he would speak, and possessed abundant humility and bravery, qualities which were fundamental in capturing people's hearts.” The “Shahid and Shaheed” exhibition, Prince Turki continued, hopes to shed further light on the history of a great man who dedicated his life to the service of the Ummah, and was a steadfast advocate of all Arab and Muslim causes, and from the age of 21 assisted his father in political and military tasks. The title of the exhibition refers to King Faisal's status as a witness to major events of his time, and his martyrdom in the making of history. – Okaz __
