The Ministry of Education, Girls Education, has approved new transportation plan for female general education students with a new project called “Al-Ameen for school transportation.” The plan will be implemented in the regions of Makkah, Madina, Qassim, the Eastern Region, Riyadh, and the Northern Frontiers effective from the beginning the new academic year on Saturday. In line with Al-Ameen project, about 500,000 female students will be transported aboard 3,823 buses and 2,678 vehicles. Prince Dr. Khalid Bin Abdullah Bin Miqrin Al-Mishari Al-Saud, Deputy Minister of Education for Girls Education noted that the project will cover 30 percent of female students in the first phase, and later it will cover all female students, SPA reported. Prince Dr. Khalid said the project will be implemented in all of the Kingdom's regions at a cost of more than SR3 billion, equivalent to SR1 billion annually. Meanwhile, Muhammad Al-Naghi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hafil Company for School Transport, said the company has made the required arrangements for the training of Saudi drivers to work under the project. The project will make more than 5,000 job opportunities available for Saudi youth, he said. The Education Ministry signed a contract with Hafil for operating Al-Ameen project at a cost of SR1.8 billion. __
