The third historical Exhibition of the of late King Faisal ‘Shahid and Shaheed' (Eyewitness and Martyr) was inaugurated on Friday by Prince Khalid Al-Fasial, Emir of Makkah. The exhibition, held at the International Center for Conferences and organized by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, will continue for 45 days. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal toured the exhibition and watched a recording of the late king calling on Islamic nations to support the plight of the Palestinian people and how he wished that he dies a martyr for it. “King Faisal was a great man, a Muslim who sacrificed everything in order to serve Islam and the Kingdom and its (citizens).” Prince Khalid told reporters. “He followed his father's path to establish the Kingdom's standing regionally and internationally. He also played an important role in both Islamic and Arabian nations.” The exhibition also demonstrated the different experiences the King had in his life which, such as how he helped his father in many unifying battles even taking the lead in several of them. “His father trusted him enough to make him his representative in the Hijaz and then he later became the minister of foreign affairs,” said Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic studies. “He occupied many other positions in his father's life such as a head of Shoura Council, President of the Agents Council and he represented his father in many international assemblies. He was then the Crown Prince in his brother Saud's era and then the prime minister.” Prince Turki said the late King Faisal dedicated his life to making Saudi Arabia achieve Islamic solidarity because he believed it would give back Muslims their pride and dignity. __
