Mannaa at a local restaurant on Thursday, November 21. Mannaa, who was also the chief guest, told the audience about his personal efforts and challenges in life and his firm belief on the Almighty Allah which lead him to success. The presentation shed light on Savola's success story, financials, values and the ethical culture inculcated in the Savola Group. The Savola success story showed glimpses of Savola's inception in 1979 with 50 employees and a meager capital competing against a world-class company with a world-class product. But with guidance from Almighty Allah, he said, and under the visionary leadership of its founder Shaikh Hamza Bogary and the former Chairman of its Board of Directors Adel Fakieh, Savola grew exponentially; it now has a capital of over SR5.3 billion with around 20,000 employees. Mannaa said the amazing growth is attributed to Savola's focus on values and ethics, based on the basic Islamic principles of Amanah, Taqwa, Birr, Mujahadah and Tawado and Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) of providing the Makeen Center for training and employing special need persons, participation in Injaz programs and being the pioneers in employing local female workforce. According to Mannaa, Savola is nominated as number 1 company in the Foods Industry in the Arab world by Forbes and Saudi Corporate in transparency and corporate governance by S&P and Hawkamah Institute. He also received the CEO excellence award by the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute in 2013. The Consul General of Pakistan, Aftab Ahmed Khokher, appreciated the success story of the Savola Group and invited Mannaa to consider investing in Pakistan and assured the CEO of Savola Group that the Commercial Section of Pakistan Consulate would extend its full cooperation to the group in identifying appropriate investment opportunities in Pakistan. The secretary general of PEG thanked Mannaa for his enlightening presentation on Savola success. Mutahir Rizvi, president of PEG, presented a PEG Shield to Mannaa as a token of appreciation. The program was followed by dinner. — SG
