I am writing with regard to the article "“As a man is, so he sees…”" (Nov. 22) which reports on young Saudi men who harass women. The young men who harass women and girls should not forget that they too have their own sisters and other womenfolk. These youngsters who behave in an indecent manner usually come from a rich family or from a family where Islam is not practiced. The subject of "moral science" should be added to the syllabus in schools and colleges and should be taught concurrently with Islamic studies and Prophetic teachings. In this way the Ministries of Education and Higher Education could help society. Muhammad Shakir Hussain, Online response II. In my country there are also cases like this. What women do, especially in a public location with many bystanders to assist, is to challenge the stalkers: "What do you want?" "Why are you staring at me". That is usually enough to send them on the run. My wife did this exact thing at the supermarket when she was shopping alone. The men were so surprised that a women would "man" up to them, that they were left speechless. Women have a lot of power in this country, they should exercise it. Expat reader, Online response
