VISAKHAPATNAM, India — West Indies produced an inspired batting performance to beat India by two wickets in their second One-Day International match here Sunday. With this win, the tourists leveled the three-match ODI series as they bounced back in an impressive manner after six-wicket loss in the first ODI. Chasing a daunting target of 289, the West Indies scored 289-8 from 49.3 overs to register their first win on this tour. As many as four West Indies' batsmen — Kieran Powell, Darren Bravo, Lendl Simmons and Darren Sammy hit half-centuries as the tourists won the game but not before few hiccups. Sammy remained unbeaten on 63 off just 45 balls, hitting four boundaries and as many sixes. For India, Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar and Shami claimed two wickets each. Earlier, Virat Kohli missed out on his 18th century and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni smashed a brisk 51 not out, as India posted a daunting total of 288-7. Put in to bat first, India's batsmen barring Kohli and Dhoni failed to convert starts into big scores as the West Indies bowlers were impressive. Ravi Rampaul was the pick among the bowlers as he claimed four wickets for 60 runs off his 10 overs. This is Rampaul's third best performance of his career against India. Kohli cracked nine boundaries in his innings of 99, that came off 100 balls. Dhoni, whose late blitz help India set a daunting target, smashed three boundaries and four sixes to score 51.
