The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has awarded the “devoted ranger” title to Mosleh Al-Joaid, Chief Ranger at the game conservation areas, who was shot at while pursuing two people who were out hunting in the protected area. Al-Joaid arrived in the Kingdom on Sunday after receiving the award in Barcelona, Spain. The Secretary General of the National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development, Prince Bandar Bin Saud, said all were proud of Al-Joaid's accomplishment. Prince Bandar called on Commission personnel to take Al-Joaid as an example, noting that the prize came because of his endeavor in the domain of environment protection. He added that the Commission was cooperating with the IUCN in a number of studies and researches that would develop the field of environment conservation. The IUCN was established in 1948 and its headquarters are located in Switzerland, with Amman as its regional office. – Okaz __
