Main construction contracts for 677 villas, 480 apartment units awarded
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 11 - 2013

Main construction contracts to build 677 luxury villas and 480 apartment units and over 100 other work orders and packages have been awarded at the 28 million sq ft golf community, which is being developed by DAMAC Properties, one of the largest luxury real estate developers in the Middle East.
The project includes a variety of luxury villas and condominiums, each with panoramic views of the Trump International Golf Club – the first Trump course to be operated and managed by the Trump Organization in the Middle East/Asia.
Work orders already placed include the bulk earthworks with Al Naboodah Contracting Co LLC, a 132KV substation construction with ETA and the construction, completion and maintenance of the golf driving range with the Desert Group. World-renowned architect Gil Hanse – who is also designing the course for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games – has been appointed to shape the Trump International Golf Club Dubai, and the concept design for the Akoya by DAMAC retail centre has been awarded.
“Work is well under way on the site. More than 100 pieces of heavy machinery are shaping the land and you can see the golf course already starting to take shape and green shoots of grass coming through. It is very exciting to see Akoya by DAMAC rise from the sand,” said Ziad El Chaar, Managing Director, DAMAC Properties.
DAMAC Properties has also completed construction of the state of the art sales center on the site, where prospective owners can review the project and learn more about the investment opportunities available throughout the development.
DAMAC Properties is working with some of the most famous luxury brands in the world to bring a unique high-end living concept to Akoya by DAMAC. Projects in the development include the first Trump Estates in the Middle East region, which will offer the kind of exemplary service and quality standards expected only from a Trump Property.
DAMAC Villas by Paramount will reflect the Hollywood glamor and California cool lifestyle synonymous with the movie house and the Fendi Villas will bring the timeless quality and chic expected from the luxury Italian fashion house.
Golf Veduta, Brookfield, Queens Meadow, Silver Springs and Whitefield have been launched onto the market, and DAMAC Properties confirmed they have proven to be some of the most sought-after products in its portfolio.
“Each concept has its own gated community within the community,” added El Chaar. “There is literally something which will excite every taste and style to provide a unique living experience, unrivalled anywhere in Dubai.”
“Akoya by DAMAC is quickly becoming known as the Beverly Hills of Dubai. Owners are not only attracted to the project for the high quality finishes and luxury lifestyle available, but also our commitment to delivery''.
DAMAC Properties has completed 8,887 units to date and has a further 23,788 units at various stages of progress and planning across the Middle East region.
DAMAC Properties was established in 2002, as a private, residential, leisure and commercial developer in Dubai and the Middle East. In the past decade, DAMAC Properties has expanded rapidly into Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
