WASHINGTON — Kris Russell's slapshot from just inside the blue line 92 seconds into overtime was the deciding factor as the Calgary Flames defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2. The win brought the Flames back up to .500 (6-6-2) and was the team's first win in the United Center since March of 2008. Chicago (9-2-4) saw its three-game winning streak snapped. Reto Berra made 42 saves for the Flames and the winning side also got goals from Mike Cammalleri and Curtis Glencross. Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa netted for the Blackhawks in the back and forth affair. Stars 4, Senators 3 (SO): Jamie Benn's shootout goal gave the Dallas Stars a victory and sent Ottawa to their fifth straight loss. In addition to the game, the Senators lost goalie Craig Anderson with 3:16 left in overtime when Stars rookie Valeri Nichushkin fell on his head while cutting through the crease. Anderson, who had stopped 33 shots to that point, was taken off the ice on a stretcher, the extent of his injury unclear. Playing his first NHL game of the season, Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki inadvertently scored in his own goal at 3:11 in the third period to hand Dallas a 3-2 edge. Bobby Ryan sent the game into overtime on his eighth goal of the season with just 10 seconds left in regulation. Wild 4, Devils 0: A quartet of Minnesota Wild goals, and 19 saves by goalie Josh Harding, kept the New Jersey Devils winless, and scoreless, in November. Mikael Granlund, Torrey Mitchell, Dany Heatley and Jason Pominville scored for the Wild (8-4-3), and Harding recorded his second shutout of the season, as the Devils (3-7-4) were blanked for the second night in a row. — Agencies
