Vanderbilt notches good start

Vanderbilt improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1943 with a 14-13 win over Auburn in college football Saturday.
Mackenzi Adams came off the bench and threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns as the No. 19-ranked Commodores beat the 13th-ranked Tigers.
No. 1 Oklahoma 49, Baylor 17: In Waco, Texas, Sam Bradford threw for 372 yards with two touchdowns, DeMarco Murray ran for two scores and four other Sooners got into the end zone in the Big 12 opener for both teams.
Bradford threw a 53-yard TD to Manuel Johnson only 70 seconds into the game for the Sooners, who built a 28-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
No. 2 Alabama 17, Kentucky 14: In Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Glen Coffee rushed for 218 yards, Leigh Tiffin kicked a 24-yard field goal with 2:12 left and Alabama held on.
Coffee and the Crimson Tide mounted a bruising 15-play drive from their own 17-yard line to set up the clinching field goal. Tiffin, who had missed two earlier kicks, drilled this one for a 17-7 lead, and the points proved necessary.
No. 4 Missouri 52, Nebraska 17: In Lincoln, Nebraska, Chase Daniel threw three touchdown passes, Derrick Washington ran for 139 yards and scored three times and the fourth-ranked Tigers beat overmatched Nebraska for their first road win against the Cornhuskers in 30 years.
