JEDDAH — Video games account for 85 percent of children's eye problems and weak vision, according to Dr. Yasser Al-Mazroee, an ophthalmology consultant. Research shows that eyes become strained when children play video games. Symptoms include red eyes, headache, fatigue and sometimes depression. He said a recent study published in Germany indicated that children who spend prolonged periods of time in front of monitors playing games are more likely to suffer from short-sightedness and lower back pain.
