Police have rounded up 30,220 beggars since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, authorities said. In a survey of the beggars, the majority of them were found to be foreigners accounting for 26,211 beggars at 87 percent and 4,009 Saudis at 13 percent. The percentage of foreign adult male beggars stood at 74.11 percent compared with 4.6 percent of foreign adult female beggars. Foreign male children starting out life as beggars in the Kingdom made up 4.89 percent compared with 2.89 percent of foreign female children. Saudi adult male beggars made up 2.78 percent while adult female beggars 5.42 percent, male children 2.4 percent and female children 3.87 percent. – Okaz __
