With regard to the article "Driving time!" (Oct. 21) by Hussein Shobokshi, it is time to allow women to drive. It's 2013 and society is set up in such a way that driving is a basic necessity. It would save me the headache and money of having to hire a perfect stranger to drive my wife and children around. To those who oppose women driving, think about this: Would you prefer to have a strange man drive your wife and daughters, imposing on their privacy or have them drive themselves in the safety and privacy of their own car? The liberty to drive would be an honor to their hard work and the contributions they have made to their country. As Mr. Shobokshi notes, it will not be much longer till women acquire the right to drive. This will be new and for some difficult to accept, but it will eventually be accepted with no hassles by society.
