I am writing with regard to the post “Expats must not be allowed to compromise Kingdom's security” (Oct. 13). After reading Saudi newspapers, one would think that in this country there are no other problems except those caused by expatriates. The local media seems to think that there are no crimes expect those committed by expatriates, and that human rights violations, abuse of housemaids, lawlessness, and murder are all the fault of expatriates. Waqas Bashir II. If an expatriate is trying to rectify his residential status so that he will be a legal resident but he does not have enough money to bribe the people who are demanding thousands of riyals from him to provide him with documents and signatures which should be provided free of charge, should he be punished? He is trying his best but has been unsuccessful. Should he suffer for this? Is that fair? Sohail Kazi
