A Dubai District Court has sentenced a 46–year-old Saudi and his 30-year-old Moroccan wife to four years in prison for smuggling and using hashish. The judge also ordered their deportation after completion of the sentence, Al-Hayat reported on Friday. The Saudi pleaded not guilty to all charges against him and his wife. A witness from the anti-narcotic department in Dubai testified that he had received a tip-off from an agent in the Dubai Police that the Saudi and his wife had brought the drug into the hotel they were staying in Dubai. After searching the room, police found a small piece of hashish in their possession, the agent said. __
