The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has placed tough conditions before the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) for inclusion of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the federal government, said a news report. “An unconditional public apology by the MQM for its past role and a guarantee not to repeat the May 12, 2007 actions is the only choice to include its members in the central government,” the report carried by the English language daily The News said quoting sources privy to the discussions between the PML-N and PPP. The PML-N negotiators and Nawaz Sharif himself described the MQM as worst than the PML-Q and told the PPP leadership to keep it away from the federal government in order to maintain unity among the coalition partners. “The PML-N will remain part of the government at the Center if the demands are accepted,” sources quoted its negotiating members as telling the PPP team in talks held after telephonic conversation between Asif Ali Zardari and MQM chief Altaf Hussain. The PML-N turned down the PPP offer to be part of the Sindh government by accepting the position of adviser to the chief minister. “We rejected this offer and conveyed our reservations over the MQM's past role during the last nine years.” The PML-N repeatedly described the MQM as worst than the PML-Q. “We can sit with the MQM at the Center and at provincial level only if its leadership tenders a public apology and gives up its so-called claim over Karachi and urban areas of Sindh,” PML-N sources said. They said the PML-N also expressed its great resentment over Zardari's act of not taking Nawaz Sharif into confidence after having a telephonic conversation with Altaf Hussain. “There is no possibility of the PML-N to sit with the PPP at the Center or in Sindh if the MQM does not come up with an apology to the nation and prepares itself to play a democratic role in future,” the sources added. __
