RIYADH – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned citizens against the traps of swindlers and fraudsters who use various unscrupulous means to cheat and blackmail them. The ministry urged citizens that they should be cautious while receiving any suspicious phone calls or e-mails from abroad with claims that these unknown people have the ability to invest their money profitably and increase their savings, and that they have magical powers to take them to the club of the rich people as well as to solve their problems. “There are some people who cheat citizens by trying to convince them that they have won prizes worth huge amounts and that they should send fee for completing administrative procedures so as to collect the prize. There are some others who contact citizens to blackmail them by claiming that they have the capability to harm their children or relatives through black magic and sorcery,” the ministry said in a statement. – SPA
