The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh has announced the appointment of Adel Al Mahboob as its new General Manager. Saudi national Al Mahboob brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and has worked across the sales, marketing and operations departments. Al Mahboob joins The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh following its wins at the inaugural Saudi Excellence in Tourism Awards and the world's leading travel awards at the recent Arabian Travel Market in Dubai. The palatial hotel was also named the ‘Best Business Hotel in Riyadh' by the Business Traveler Awards. “Adel has a proven record within the hospitality industry, substantial knowledge of the travel industry and great expertise in operating within the region. Al Mahboob has a degree in hospitality from Cornell University in the United States and has worked with international brands such as Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts and Crown Plaza as well as local entities such as the Al Direya Palace for Royal Protocol in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has tremendous international training exposure at the Intercontinental Miami and New York and Intercontinental London, before moving back to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to take on the role of Executive Assistant Manager, Rooms Division at the Intercontinental Riyadh. — SG
