Saudi Gazette report RIYADH – Minster of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah signed on Sunday two memoranda of understanding with South Korean Minister of Health and Welfare Chin Young on health information technology and training of doctors. The memoranda were signed on the sidelines of the Second International Conference for Mass Gathering Medicine being held in Riyadh. The first memorandum, which was signed with King Fahd Medical City, focuses on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of health information technology while the second focuses on training Saudi doctors at five specialized hospitals for complicated surgical operations. In a press statement following the signing ceremony, Dr. Al-Rabeeah spoke highly of the level of medical services in South Korea and hoped that the memoranda will enhance cooperation between the two ministries in terms of medical research, information technology, exchange of health technology, and training of doctors. Teams of doctors from both countries will perform surgical operations in the Kingdom and South Korea in the field of neurosurgery in cooperation with King Fahd Medical City and an advanced medical center in South Korea, Dr. Al-Rabeeah said. Young said he was impressed with the Saudi experience in managing mass gathering medicine. “This is a new experience to us,” he said.
