The Insurex Conference and Awards 2013, the GCC region's defining insurance event, has announced an international shortlist of insurers, with more than a 30 percent increase in the number of entries from last year. The winners will be announced at a formal gala dinner on Oct. 2, 2013. The event has become an iconic annual landmark and will be attended by a comprehensive cross-section of the region's top business press, along with leading stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers from the insurance industry. Topics in the spotlight in the revamped 2013 schedule include fraud, Emiratisation, loyalty and medical cases, and ways to create efficiency and profitability in the health insurance sector. Insurex 2013 provides a detailed roadmap on how to thrive in a competitive sector and use highly contemporary business strategies to boost value and market share. The new format encourages open dialogue on key insurance topics through presentations and panel discussions and a roundtable program. “We are very pleased with the number and quality of entries received this year. Insurex has been leading the way in industry awards for many years, which can actually be correlated to high service standards, performance and client satisfaction. We follow an independent, verified and monitored process for judging the entries received to ensure that we satisfy the trust that the GCC insurance industry has in us. This year, the awards ceremony will be one of our best to date, and in no small part this is due to the sheer quality of submissions and the credentials of those shortlisted,” said Alexandre Hawari, co-CEO of Mediaquest, publishers ofPOLICY magazine. Insurex has been held since 2004 under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry of the UAE. The Insurex Conference and Awards 2013 celebrates 10 years at the forefront of the GCC insurance marketplace by showcasing its strongest portfolio of speakers, interactive panels and a special workshop format that is entirely new to the region. — SG
