The Board of Directors of Okaz Organization for Press and Publication, the publishers of the Saudi Gazette, met on Thursday night and endorsed the final audit for the fiscal year 2006-2007. Dr. Sa'ed Al-Urabi Al-Harithy, the Board's Chairman, presided over the meeting, in the presence of Dr. Waleed Arab Hashem, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, and members of the board, Sheikh Abdul Lateef Al-Jabr, Abdullah Omar Khayyat, Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Hussen Shobokshi, Dr. Tareq Fadaq, Waleed Jameel Kattan, the Organization's Director General and Ahmad Al-Battah, the board's Secretary. The board lauded the remarkable accomplishments made by the organization at the administrative and editorial levels, especially the unprecedented revenues achieved in the fiscal year. The board also endorsed a package of new projects in printing and distribution. The board was also briefed on the progress made by the organization on a new company being carried out in Riyadh, in which it is a major partner. The new company includes a printing complex and other media operations. The board reviewed the strides made in the automation project of the various editorial sections and administration. The project, expected to be completed by midyear, will create a quantum leap in the organization's setup. It will be fully computerized, electronically linking branches to the main office. The Board also stressed the importance of training for the organization's staffers within and outside the Kingdom, and underlined the great success achieved by Okaz, the Saudi Gazette's Arabic sister publication, manifested in significant increases of its sales and distribution. __
