JEDDAH — A Saudi studying cinematography at a Toronto institute has recently won the best filmmaker award at a film festival held in Toronto, Al-Riyadh daily reported. Hassan Saeed, who has been interested in cinematography from a young age, has also been awarded membership at the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. He was praised by his teachers for his perseverance and hard work. Saeed directed several short films which attracted the attention of his teachers who were impressed with his camera planning techniques. His films include "Pianist Tone," "Blind man's Dream," and the "Black Rosary." — SG
