An exhibition about Haj and the Two Holy Mosques will open in Makkah today. Under the title “Haj and Holy Mosques Encyclopedia,” and executed by the King Abdul Aziz Foundation, the exhibition will focus on the stages and developments that Haj and the holy shrines have witnessed during the Saudi era. The exhibition also aims to create a database about Haj, the Holy Mosques and pilgrims that is meant to serve information about the places and the event to everyone. Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, the Emir of Riyadh, the Chairman of King Abdul Aziz Foundation and Director General of the Haj and Holy Mosques Encyclopedia, will inaugurate the launching of the Encyclopedia project's activities. On the fringes of The Encyclopedia project, a gallery will be held that shows the history of King Abdul Aziz's relationship with Makkah and the efforts he exerted to achieve security and development in the holiest city after he entered it in 1924, when the city was suffering from instability and lack of security that affected its growth. The gallery includes pictures of King Abdul Aziz from different times, which show aspects of the King's care for Haj and the affairs of the Holy Mosques and the security and developmental projects he executed. Prince Salman will deliver a lecture within the premises of Umm Al-Qura University regarding the event, which records – into one encyclopedia – the history of Haj and the Holy Mosques from the pre-Islamic period to the present time. __
