Saudi Gazette report ABHA – The Ministry of Education has blamed a printing press for the delay in distributing English language books recommended in the school curricula, Al-Watan Arabic daily reported Saturday. Spokesman for the Ministry of Education Muhammad Saad Al-Dukhaini said since the beginning of the second semester of the previous academic year, the ministry made sure that the relevant books were handed over to the ministry in sufficient time before classes began.
At present, the ministry is handing over the modern series of English textbooks recommended in the curricula that the ministry began to implement last year. The ministry blamed a printing press for the delay in completing the first year secondary school textbooks. The textbooks are being transferred to the education administrations in various regions. Al-Watan learned that the ministry had earlier asked directors of education to visit its warehouses and count the McGraw-Hill international series of English language textbooks for all stages to ensure remedial measures to overcome any shortages.
