Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — A committee of female inspectors from the Jeddah Labor Office has questioned the principal of a school who expelled seven Saudi female teachers last Tuesday and forced them to leave the school premises without their abayas. The German national, who is of Arab origin, allegedly asked non-Saudi female employees to carry out her orders and forced the female teachers to leave the school, Al-Watan reported Friday. It said initial investigations showed that the principal confessed to ordering two employees to force the female teachers outside the school but said she did not expect the teachers to leave the school without their abayas on. She said the teachers repeatedly argued with her over their dismissal even though she told them that she did not have a say in the matter and it was the owner who made the decision. The committee also questioned one of the two employees as the other did not show up for work that day. The employee said she carried out the principal's orders. She added the school guard locked the door and prevented the teachers from coming back inside. Sources said the principal and three other officials will appear before the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution next week after the agnecy gets the police report on the issue. It is learnt that the princiapl and several other employees of the school are not under the direct sponsorship of the school. Sources said the school owner's office called the female teachers and asked them to solve the matter amicably but they refused.
