AS Roma chalked up its first win of the season on Saturday when it beat Reggina 3-0 at home in Serie A. Last season's runner-up had managed just a point from its opening two leagues games and lost 2-1 here to unheralded Romanians CFR Cluj in the Champions League in midweek. Its lack of confidence was evident in the first period when it was restricted to shots from distance before Christian Panucci netted from close range on halftime. The defender tapped in Rodrigo Taddei's ball across the box amid Reggina protests that he had been offside earlier in the scrappy passage of play. The home side doubled its lead early in the second half when midfielder Alberto Aquilani smashed a left-foot shot into the top corner as it began to show some of the attacking flair that marked last season's campaign. Substitute Simone Perrotta put gloss on the victory when he made it 3-0 in injury time. Earlier Atalanta suffered its first defeat of the Serie A season when it went down 1-0 at Catania despite dominating for long spells. Bremen wins 5-2 at Munich Markus Rosenberg scored two goals Saturday to help Werder Bremen win 5-2 at Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga for its first victory at Allianz Arena. Rosenberg found the net in the 30th and 67th minutes, with Naldo (45th), Mesut Ozli (54th) and Claudia Pizarro (59th) giving Thomas Schaaf's team a 5-0 lead. Tim Borowski scored two goals in the final 18 minutes for Munich. Bremen and Munich both have eight points in the standings to be equal fourth. Schalke had a lackluster 1-0 home win over 10-man Eintracht Frankfurt to go top of the standings on 11 points. Hertha Berlin pulled even with Munich and Bremen with eight points after winning 1-0 at Borussia Moenchengladbach. Arminia Bielefeld won its first game of the season, 2-0 at home against Cologne. Energie Cottbus scored its first goal of the season but remains in last place after a 1-1 home draw with VfL Bochum. Hearts go second Saulius Mikoliunas gave Hearts a 1-0 victory over Inverness on Saturday to send his team up to second in the Scottish standings. The victory gave the Jambos 12 points from six games, with Rangers, Celtic and Kilmarnock not playing until Sunday. In Saturday's other game, St. Mirren and Falkirk drew 1-1. Alkmaar stuns PSV AZ Alkmaar handed champions PSV Eindhoven its first defeat of the Dutch league season on Saturday with a 1-0 home win.
