With regard to the report "Airlines can check validity of re-entry visa online" (Aug. 28), do you really think that airlines will go online for each and every passenger boarding a plane for Saudi Arabia? If, for example, 300 passengers are checking in to fly to Jeddah, the task of checking all of them one by one online would take hours. And what if the Internet or the website is down? Will they delay the departure of the plane? Alan, Online response II. If there is no print out of the exit-reentry visa, how can we show the authorities in our country that we have a valid visa to enter Saudi Arabia? We can be stopped in immigration. There should either be an entry in the passport or there should be a hard copy in any form to prove the validity of the visa. Since email is used by everyone, an email copy which can be shown in a tablet or mobile could also possibly be proof of the validity of the visa. However, it should be clear that no one can rely on online service being available at the airport check-in counter. Rafeek, Online response
