As directed by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdulaziz Bin Mohieddin Khoja handed over SR165 million to Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Al-Siniora to cover the tuition fees of public schools and for the cost of textbooks in Lebanon for this academic year. Siniora made the announcement following a meeting with education ministers. Since 2006, Saudi Arabia has continuously provided support and assistance for Lebanon, through the Supreme Committee of Lebanon's Relief, the prime minister said. SR75 million of the funds provided will cover the payment of student tuition fees in public schools and the other SR75 million will cover the costs of textbooks for all public school students. The remaining SR15 million will be used to support public schools, Al-Siniora said.
