and-a-half-year-old Saudi girl suffering from neck and spine injuries following a traffic accident in which her elder sister died, is awaiting treatment after being turned away by hospitals in Riyadh due to a lack of staff and facilities equipped to deal with such cases. Al-Hanouf Bint Ali Al-Sahari was first taken to Al-Aflaj General Hospital, from where doctors referred her to centers in Riyadh. The same doctors that were forced to turn her away warned that without urgent attention the girl could be left a quadriplegic. Al-Hanouf is currently in the intensive care unit of Al-Aflaj Hospital while she waits for a hospital capable of dealing with her condition to offer its services. – Okaz __
