JEDDAH – The Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) and Jabal Omar Development Company signed a supplementary agreement to provide smart integrated telecom and IT services and solutions for 10 years. Engineer Anef Abanumi, GM of EBU Sales, signed for STC where Engineer Samir Al Qurashi, Executive GM, signed for Jabal Omar Development Co. The basic agreement relevant to execution of the telecom network infrastructure for Jabal Omar development project was signed in 2008. Jabal Omar project extends over an area of 230,000 square meters and building plan of 1.92 million square meters. The project includes 26 world-class hotels spread among 38 towers, each of them between 20 to 48 stories. The project will accommodate about 35,000 residents when completed. Operation of all stages of the project is expected to take place by the end 2015. Jabal Omar project is the second biggest construction projects after the Holy Haram expansion project. It overlooks the Holy Haram yard form the west and makes a strategic connecting point and a key passing gate for the parallel road (King Abdulaziz Road) toward the Holy Haram. — SG
