With reference to the article "As prices go up, used tires get motorists back on road" (Aug. 18), used tires will pose dangers on the road. It is astonishing to think that people are convinced by shop owners that used-tires are safe. Although on the surface the tire may not show any problem, the internal layers could have been damaged after hitting stones, curbs, deep pits or sharp edges. This creates a danger that a tire could burst in hot temperatures while on the road. I agree with the story that used tires can endanger the lives not only of the driver but also of other people.
