The article "Create Nitaqat system for Saudi employees, says chamber official" by Badea Abu Al-Naja (Aug. 18) reported that "several companies have complained that dozens of Saudi employees want a SR5,000 monthly salary without having to work" and that "they do not mind signing fake employment contracts to help employers meet the required Saudization quota". It seems incredulous but we know that many Saudis have this attitude that should be changed. Abdulaziz Al-Awad, the deputy chairman of the committee for training at the Council of Saudi Chambers, is right to consider such behavior disgraceful and detrimental to the government's efforts to Saudize jobs. It defeats the purpose of Saudization and the government should do something to change the attitude of this kind of Saudi jobseekers. I think the plan to adopt a Nitaqat system for Saudi employees who should also be given green, red and yellow categories in their attitude toward work is a step in the right direction. I agree that there should be a reward for employees who work hard and punishment for those who do not work. Indeed, those who show up for work on time should be put in the green category while the less punctual should be placed in the yellow zone and those who don't show up for work should be place in the red zone and should be stripped of any financial aid from the Human Resource Fund. There should also be continuous training and education program to make Saudi employees adopt a positive attitude toward work. An expatriate, Jeddah II. I hope that Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Awad can give the names of the companies and businesses that want to hire Saudi employers as alleged in the article. I am a Saudi. I want to apply and I'm willing to work. Noor, Online response
