Realistic analysis
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 15 - 08 - 2013

Opinion columnist Tariq Al-Maeena made an excellent and realistic analysis in his article "Sri Lanka's recipe for renewed failure" (Aug. 14).
Your work is very much appreciated by all peace loving people in the island nation. Muslims (in Sri Lanka) have coexisted with the majority community for centuries and they are totally confused to understand the hidden agenda behind the sudden appearance of these Buddhist extremist groups like BBS, Ravaya and others.Your regular monitoring of the situation in the island will be highly appreciated. May God bless you for your good deed.

Well said. It's a great article. Mr. Tariq has analyzed the current situation in Sri Lanka very well. The need of the hour is emphasized and he very well explained the importance of a role which could be played by the GCC countries and Islamic movements. It is time for the head of the Sri Lankan government to feel the gravity of this issue and act wisely without delay.

The government of Sri Lanka is publicly supporting the extremist group to hide its frauds. The GCC has a responsibility to pressure the Sri Lankan government to maintain peace in the country among all religious groups which should do their activities without any hindrance.

The government of Sri Lanka must take the responsibility for creating this tense situation. Muslims and the Sinhalese majority have been living in peace for centuries.
The short-sighted selfish politicians fuel the Buddhist extremists to create this pathetic situation. I am sure the international community will not remain silent on the issue any more. We thank Saudi Gazette for bringing this matter to the rest of the world.

Is Sri Lanka going to be another Burma where the Rohinga Muslims are being discriminated against?
The Buddhist BBS (Bodu Bala Sena) is taking the law and order in its hands against the Muslim minority for the self interest of the Rajapaksa family. The OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) must pressure the Sri Lankan goverment to impose law and order and maintain calm and peace among all religious groups. Don't allow Sri Lanka to be another Burma.

Excellent article exposing the terrorist-Buddhists. Everyone thought that Buddhists are peaceful meditating people. Alas they are showing their true violent colors.
I hope GCC countries will take a strong position against the Sri Lankan government on this issue and hit it where it hurts — its business.
Pressure the government to provide strict security for the Muslim minority against these terrorist-Buddhists. We are fed up with these so-called "peaceful monks" in Burma and Sri Lanka. If they do not stop their atrocities, the GCC must use some remedial measures.

Keep on watching the movements of our government. I am exasperated with my government, including the president, since there have been many such incidents in our country. Stop this violence against the Muslim minitory!
I urged the GCC countries to please watch the situation and help Sri Lankan Muslims. If our government doesn't shape up, stop providing it with funds which it uses to help racial groups like the BBS and Ravaya.
