Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — A Saudi competitor has won the world-famous “RacingThePlanet: Iceland 2013” race that finished Saturday. Mohammed bin Naji Foustok, 31, beat 278 competitors from 52 countries. He walked the distance of 250 kilometers in a record time of 22 hours 18 minutes over the course of a week. Two Americans took second and third places at a time of 22 hours 40 minutes and 24 hours 45 minutes respectively. A racer from Finland took fourth place at a time of 24 hours 47 minutes. The racers walked through a difficult terrain of mountains and heights. Foustok, expressing his happiness over his victory, said: “It was such a nice course. wThe race was difficult especially in the last two days but I loved the week. “The course was simply beautiful.” According to Al-Madinah newspaper, Foustok has dedicated his win to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, who he said has always been giving his utmost care and concern to young Saudis.
