RIYADH — A Saudi movie focusing on physically disabled people was filmed last week in Riyadh, Al-Watan daily reported. The film starred actors from the Kingdom. Afnan Fuad, actress, said the movie revolved around a young man with special needs who meets a girl by chance. He tells her how people like him suffer a lot because society is not educated about them. The film sheds light on ways to support such disabled people. It will be shown on several satellite channels such as Al-Arabiya, MBC, and Al-Danah. The film will also be translated and shown at the American Embassy in Riyadh, the Saudi Society for Disabled Children, and on the International Day of People with Disabilities. Fuad said she refused to take any money for her part and accepted the role because she supported people with special needs. She believed that the real message of art is to promote social issues. — SG
