Later the King arrived in Jeddah. — SPA Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH – Muslims performed Eid Al-Fitr prayers at the Grand Mosque, the Prophet's Mosque, and other major mosques across the Kingdom on Thursday, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, attended the prayer at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. Sheikh Salih Bin Humaid, Imam of the Grand Mosque, urged Muslims to thank Allah for His blessings. He advised people to visit each other and exchange Eid greetings and wear their best clothes because Allah has ordered us to be in our best on this day. At the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, Sheikh Abdul Bari Al-Thebaiti called upon Muslims to forget about their sorrows and sadness and enjoy the day of Eid. He asked them to seize this opportunity to let go of their fears, worries and ill-feelings toward each other. Emir of Madinah Prince Faisal Bin Salman attended the prayer at the Prophet's Mosque. In Riyadh, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh led the prayer at Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque. In his sermon, he reminded Muslims of the virtues of Eid Al-Fitr. “This happy occasion is a good opportunity to let bygones be bygones and shed grudges. It's the time of solidarity and love,” the Grand Mufti said. He underscored the importance of honesty, close family relationships, and respect for neighbors. Emir of Riyadh Prince Khalid Bin Bandar attended the prayer at Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque. In Jeddah, Eid prayer was led by Jeddah General Court judge Sulaiman Al-Masood at Al-Eid Al-Kabir Mosque. Al-Masood advised Muslims to stay away from envy and backbiting and be kind to their parents. He also reminded them of the great virtue of fasting the first six days of Shawwal. At Al-Qassim's Al-Eid Al-Shamali Mosque, Sheikh Abdul Halim Al-Abdul Latif, imam of the mosque, stressed the importance of close kinship and Zakat (alms-giving). Emir of Al-Qassim Prince Faisal Bin Bandar attended the prayer. He urged Muslims to help the poor and needy with everything they can, especially on this day. In the Eastern Province, Eid prayers were led at the Al-Eid Mosque by deputy chief justice of the Eastern Province Court of Appeals Sheikh Yousif Al-Afaliq. He emphasized solidarity, urging Muslims to give Zakat to the poor and needy. Emir Prince Saud Bin Naif attended the prayer. In the regions of Asir, Northern Frontiers, and Al-Jouf, the imams of the major mosques reminded people of the importance of performing good deeds and staying away from sins. Eid Al-Fitr sermons at the mosques in Tabuk, Al-Baha, Hail, and Jazan regions advised people to pay Zakat on time and uphold the values of love and solidarity on this great occasion.
