I am writing with regard to the article "From grandfather to grandson: The legacy of Mohammed Iqbal" (Aug 1). I have known Azad and his family for well over 30 years and have listened to his renditions of his own compositions of the great Allama Iqbal, his grandfather. Azad has this tremendous ability to turn a simple rendition into a memorable, easily understood semi-classical tune that lingers in the listener's memory. He has made Iqbal's poetry very popular in Saudi Arabia, India, Canada and elsewhere. I wish him all success for the future. Javed Rashid, Online response
