With reference to the article "Philippines lifts ban on sending workers to Iraq" (July 31), I would like to say how disappointed I am that our Philippine Government is trying to improve the national economy by encouraging its citizens to go out and work abroad even in countries like Iraq that are not yet totally war-free areas. Then when security problems occur and workers fear for their lives, the government will act slower than a turtle to respond to the Overseas Foreign Workers who are calling for help. The unfortunate OFWs will be stuck in Philippine embassies again like beggars. This is the funny but sad reality. Denver Calwing, Online response
