RIYADH – The Health Services Council has given approval to incorporate premarital tests into the Healthy Marriage program that will come into force starting November (Muharram 1435). The program will be implemented via an electronic linkup between the Ministry of Health and the related agencies, including the Ministry of Justice, to ensure that all required medical tests are carried out before concluding marriage contracts. During its 66th meeting chaired by Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, the council discussed the amended bylaw for the national health register prepared by a working team formed by the Higher Ministerial Committee for Administrative Organization. The objective of the amendment was to ensure conformity with the system for the National Center for Health Information, which includes the national registers for common diseases and epidemics. — SG
