Sadiq Hussain Saudi Gazette Ever imagined that there would be electric super cars? Rimac Automobili's Concept One is the answer. In 2007, Founder and CEO Mate Rimac in his garage decided to change his BMW E30 to accommodate an electric powertrain developed by him to gain attention for investments. Later on, he decided to develop a fully electric vehicle with electric propulsion that can compete with any other petrol engine based car. Rimac Automobili designed the Concept One from scratch to weigh 1650 Kg with 1088 HP, it can go 0 to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds to a range of 600km with 92 KWh of energy and top speed of 305 km/h. Concept One's electric propulsion system is designed to give a unique driving experience where all the wheels are equipped with individual electric powertrains, which can control each wheel, separately by fraction of a second. An exceptional Active Battery Management system, which manages battery longevity and optimizes performance to deliver and receive (during regenerative-braking) over 1 Megawatt of power constantly. The low mounted batteries are aligned in such a way that it enhances driving dynamics of the car. Wheel Torque Vectoring System in Concept One distributes power to each wheel in situations with different input factors like straight drives, turns and curves. There is no compromise in the exterior design of Concept One as its design teams include former designers from Pininfarina and Magna Steyr. It has mesmerizing back lights — shaped in a way when lit up it will have 3D tunnels effect — and animated indicators. Air ducts in the front, which blend in with the design. Concept One has a two-toned body color and slight cuts over the rear wheels which adds to the muscularity of the car. It is elegantly sporty from exterior to interior with an amazing animated dashboard a two-toned red and beige luxurious leather interior. A driver-focused cabin like interior with a high-end infotainment system that keeps one informed and entertained.
