Saudi Gazette report
JEDDAH — A major bank in Saudi Arabia has thrown its weight behind one of the country's leading organizations dedicated to rehabilitating and caring for people with special needs.
Saudi Hollandi Bank is supporting the HOPE Exceptional Needs Center through a financial donation in line with its corporate social responsibility program. This initiative will help support social and humanitarian associations along with local communities that focus on caring for people with special needs.
During his visit to the center in Jeddah's Al-Nahda District, Saudi Hollandi Bank Managing Director Dr. Bernd van Linder presented the donation to support the center's programs and facilities.
Van Linder also learned about the center's development programs for children and appreciated the efforts of the staff in creating a warm and supportive environment enabling children to overcome their physical and mental disabilities, helping them learn to reconnect with society.
The center is the first institution in Saudi Arabia that provides care for children of different nationalities and backgrounds, while pursuing rehabilitation programs in a multilingual and multicultural environment.
The center also offers a wide range of courses, both basic and advanced, to children with mental and physical disorders including Down syndrome, autism, attention deficit disorder and some other learning disabilities.
Van Linder expressed admiration for the center's work and the uncompromising efforts of their staff to provide the best care and education to the children.
He said: “The care and attention shown to the children by the staff at the facility is remarkable, as is the quality of the educational and development programs that have been created for these children, which will help them to overcome their challenges and give them and their families the chance of leading a normal life.
“There's a growing need for what the center does, and we are proud to support it for the benefit and wellbeing of the children.
“As a good corporate citizen, we firmly believe in giving back to society and this donation from Saudi Hollandi Bank to the HOPE center is part of the bank's community engagement efforts supporting a number of humanitarian organizations and charities.”
