New bridges connecting the Grand Mosque from east of Al-Marwah have been opened to the thousands of visitors and Umrah performers. These bridges also connect the toilets at Gashashia with the first floor of the mosque. This construction has greatly helped worshippers said Abdul Mohsin Bin Humaid, the Projects Engineer in the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques. The toilets at Fateh Gate and at Shamia Gate which were closed for maintenance and renovation have been reopened, he added. New barber shops have also been set up around the Marwah hills. Several shops were demolished in line with the new expansion project. Bin Humaid said many small projects have been undertaken to provide the utmost comfort to visitors. The basement between As-Safa and Al-Marwah has been opened to ease the entry and exit of worshippers. Escalators in the east and on Al-Garara side have also started working. He further added that cold Zamzam water has been made available at quite a few places around the Grand Mosque for the first time. Another project for constructing 200 toilets at Harat-ul-Bab has also been undertaken, Bin Humaid added. __
