Renowned Jun Bantug captured the prestigious masters event title in the just concluded FBGR Anniversary All Events Bowling Tournament at the bowling alley of the InterCon Riyadh Hotel Bowling Center. Also sharing bowling spotlight were Ronald Bautista and veteran Wilson Bacala who bagged the singles and the all events titles respectively. The FBGR Anniversary All Events Bowling Tournament ended successfully due to the untiring effort of the FBGR officials and working committee, and the generous support by the sponsors and co-sponsors, namely, Orbit Pinoy Plus Samba Brokerage, Boom-Boom Energry Drink (distributed by Mahmood Saeed Beverage Industry), McDonald's, Formula 3 Car Dealers, InterContinental Riyadh Hotel and The Manila Bistro Restaurant. During the masters event competition, the flamboyant Bantug burned the lanes to post a towering 1,069 points, for an average of 213 to secure the top spot enroute to the stepladder final. Bantug had a game of 257 in his card. Little brother Jojo Paciano shot 1,055 points to follow Bantug while Jett Cabana landed in third position by tallying 1,019. Completing the list of top five finishers for the stepladder final showdown were Andro Tismo and Gigi Enriquez who scored separate series of 1,013 and 1,003 respectively. In the first game of the stepladder match, fifth finisher Enriquez defeated finishers 3 and 4, Jett Cabana and Andro Tismo via one shoot game. Enriquez scored 202 while Cabana and Tismo had 161 and 173 to settle for 4th and 5th places. In the next game, Enriquez edged Paciano to win the game by merely one pin only, 178-177. He landed in third place. Enriquez' victory against Paciano gave him the opportunity to challenge the top finisher, Bantug who had an incentive to be beaten twice by the challenger. It was a close fight between Bantug and Enriquez till the fifth frame but on the succeeding frames, the breaks went to Bantug. He scored 213 against Enriquez' 173 to bag the coveted masters event title. Bantug won a Sony Bravia LCD 32” color TV set, dinner certificate for 2 at the Intercon Hotel Pavilion Restaurant and elegant trophy. Enriquez won a Sony Sparkling 29” color TV set. In the singles event, southpaw Ronald Bautista emerged champion by posting a five-game series of 1,066, average of 213. Willy Jadulos snatched the second place. Jadulos toppled 1,006 series while landing in third place was veteran Wilson Bacala with 1,004. Wilson Bacala with accumulated total pinfalls of 2,577 from the team, doubles and singles romped away with the all events title while Atoi Ramos shot 2,549 points to secure the second place.
