The Ministry of Culture and Information seized more than 500,000 information items in violation of regulations over the last three months including CDs, cassette tapes, videos, copying sets of Radio and Television, and sets for receiving encrypted satellite channels. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information for Internal Information Abdulrahman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Hazza' said that a large portion of the seized items are in violation of copyright regulations. They were made through illegal copying, piracy or illegal viewing of encrypted channels. Several other items were also seized including some materials breaching religious teachings, morality and social customs.
