RABIGH – Saudi Arabia is currently developing a number of economic cities collectively worth around SR229 billion. Key projects in oil and gas amounting to SR139 billion and mining and mineral developments projected to cost SR44.63 billion in 2020 add to the Kingdom's dynamic construction mix. Such activities are driving demand for industrial labor camps to accommodate the huge workforce involved. One major project that requires an expansive workers' accommodation to support its operations is the expansion of a 12.14 square km oil refinery in Rabigh. Managed by Petro Rabigh, the plant is the world's largest integrated oil refinery and petrochemical production facility. Red Sea Housing Services Company, the provider of high-profile modular housing solutions for companies specializing in oil and gas and mining sectors, is currently constructing a labor camp complex that will accommodate the 9,000 employees of the Korean company working on the second phase of the refinery's expansion. “Red Sea Housing has vast experience in building prefabricated and quality-certified labor housing for projects in remote locations, with production capacity that exceeds 770,000 sqm per annum. Our contract in Rabigh will extend our success in mega prefab projects given the large number of employees the site will have to accommodate. The materials and processes we will use guarantee fast delivery without compromising quality, which has been our trademark among our other clients. We already have a proven track record of completing prefabricated houses that exceed the expectations of end-users and our partners,” said Mohammed Othman Mallawi, Investor Relations Manager, Red Sea Housing Services Company. Red Sea Housing has emerged as a preferred builder of labor accommodations due to its vast expertise in constructing labor camps and its ability to cater for all requirements of the tenants, including electricity, fresh water, waste-water treatments, food, laundry service and recreation centers, which requires flawless logistics and superior management skills. The 170,000 sqm site being constructed by Red Sea Housing for the Petro Rabigh project includes different accommodations for staff, business conference areas, data centers and utility buildings in addition to common staff areas, large kitchens, dining halls, basketball and tennis courts, mosques and supermarkets. – SG
