Sun's harmful rays cause several skin problems. The UV Rays accounting for 5% of the total sunlight can damage the skin fully. UV Rays consists of UVA i.e. the long rays with high energy to penetrate even the inner layers of the skin and UV medium Rays i.e. UVB that violate the outer layer of the skin. These rays causes skin cancer, premature aging of the skin and also burns melanin. Melanin is the pigmentation that makes the skin brown, People who have a high proportion of melanin in their skin makes them less susceptible to skin cancer as it is ten times less as compared with light-skinned. Exposure to the sun stimulates the production of melanin in their skin, but this also causes a lot of skin damage, which can cause skin cancer in long term. Often skin contain sun protection factor because of the high percentage of melanin (pigment) which absorbs UV and thus plays the role of sunscreen. The light colored skin would need to be sun-shaded (broad-spectrum sunscreens) that protects the skin from ultraviolet rays, both long-and medium i.e. UVA and UVB, index protection between 30 and 50 taking care not to use creams that contain chemicals which may cause skin problems. Sun protection and children Children tend to play and stay in the sun than adults, something that puts them at risk of skin burns and skin cancer in the coming years. Here lies the importance of protecting children from the sun, especially during peak hours by placing a small amount of sunscreen in addition to wearing of light clothing and hats. It is only correct to use the right product for sun protection. Sun protection products The protector that contains melanin, which is natural and unique, works as an antioxidant and quenches free radicals and is solar protective. Sunglasses We cannot forget to put sunglasses to protect the eyes from cataract problem. The disease is most common in tropical areas, as studies showed that black eyes are more affected by the sunshine it is therefore advisable to wear sunglasses that absorb ultraviolet rays.
