“Fasting doesn't mean stopping work!” seemed to be the theme of the Fourth Photography Exhibition which was inaugurated here recently. The exhibition formed part of the community relations program of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) and was organized in collaboration with Al-Takhassusi Club in order to attract more photographic art amateurs. “We made the necessary preparations for this exhibition during the last two months,” said Najeeb Yamani, Director of community relations department at KFSH&RC. “We conducted several classes in the hospital and the interested staff had the opportunity to acquire more knowledge about the art of photography and methods of using and monitoring the camera,” he explained. All the exhibited photos were taken by the hospital staff as they were given courses in photography by Dr. Tariq Al-Juhani, consultant dentist at KFSH&RC. “The theme of this year's exhibition was absolutely different.” Al-Juhani noted that the exhibitions of the last three years displayed local pictures. “”But the theme of this year's exhibition was absolutely different,” he said. This year we widened our scope and added photos taken at different places in the world,” he added. Launching such an exhibition during Ramadan has raised many eyebrows. “Yeah…I am just curious to know why at this time of the year?” asked Safaa Al-Jellani, a visitor. “Fasting doesn't mean stopping work!” said Dr. Al-Juhani. “People, especially non-Muslims should know that Ramadan is not only a time for eating and praying. It can also be utilized for creativity. All the photos here show our creativity,” he said. __
