With regard to the article “Baby can't go home until SR400,000 hospital bill is settled” (June 11), it seems that since medical insurance has been instituted in the Kingdom, hospitals are charging excessive amounts and are suggesting expensive treatment and medicine to all. Doctors seem to follow this policy and I personally have seen many victims of this expensive medical treatment. Mohammed, Online response II. Medical treatment is so expensive here. Insurance companies should cover all emergency cases and there should not be any limit in such cases. Government hospitals only treat Saudi nationals and if an expatriate requires any emergency treatment he cannot go to a government hospital.
