Indian expatriates have been granted permission to use the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) premises to collect aid for the flood-hit people of the northeastern Indian state of Bihar. The floods have affected the lives of over three million people besides causing damage to crops and houses worth billions. Granting permission to Bihar Anjuman (BA) group, Jeddah chapter, the Indian consulate has asked it not to collect cash at the school premises. “For cash assistance, the amount can be sent directly to The Prime Minister's National Relief Fund,” a consulate source said. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has issued an appeal to all citizens to donate generously for relief and rehabilitation measures for the flood affected people. Cash contributions can be made by check or draft in the name of ‘The Prime Minister's National Relief Fund' (PMNRF) and sent to the Prime Minister's Office, South Block, New Delhi 110001. BA group members of Jeddah chapter have appealed to the community to come forward and contribute for the hapless people of Bihar. It will set up a camp at Girls Section of IISJ at Azizia on Thursday from 9 P.M to 1 A.M. and Friday from 4 P.M. to 12 A.M., said Khalid Hashmi, an official of the group. __
