ACER's Aspire R7 notebook and B6 Series monitors have been selected to receive Best Choice awards at this year's Computex Taipei. The Aspire R7, Acer's revolutionary notebook, competed in the Computer & System category, while the B6 monitors, made with post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, stood out in the Green ICT award category. The Best Choice Award is one of the honors presented at the world's second largest (largest in Asia Pacific) ICT procurement platform—Computex Taipei. The awards are presented to Taiwan's best ICT products available globally, and focus on functionality, innovation and market potential as the main judging criteria. The award, established in 2002, also serves as a stimulant for creativity. The Aspire R7 notebook features a 15.6” Full HD 1920x1080 touch screen made for the new computing lifestyle, which increasingly combines touch and type. With a repositioned keyboard and the revolutionary Ezel hinge that moves the display forward and into different positions, the Aspire R7 makes the combination of touching the screen and using the keyboard more intuitive and natural. Recognized for its outstanding innovation, the R7 also garnered the Red Dot and Computexd & idesign awards. With four modes of operation, the R7 can easily be used as a conventional notebook, a pad, a display, or switched to “Ezel” allowing the screen to float over the keyboard at various angles. This enables users to work where they want and how they want: seated or standing, at a desk or on their lap. The Ezel hinge makes it easy to flip the display over, and to touch or type while creating, browsing or sharing content.
